Im really getting lazy at this. Not a very dedicated blogger- I think I admire those who manage to keep it up all the time!!

I'm quite busy right now at uni... to be honest, most of my business is my own fault- i've been too caught up in writing fiction than doing my essays, so i'm kind of attacking two assignments due next week! I'm hoping to get them done by tomorrow, because on Friday I am going to an Indian Food Festival (YAY FOR LOTS OF ...

Getting ready.

... together now ready for when I pack later on this week. It's a bit strange as I don't feel like I'm going anywhere yet but I'm sure come this time next week I'll be thinking different! I've now got everything set out on our spare bed ready to pack in my bag, my last "to do "list is writen, I did a few bits of washing of things I want to take and I've still ...

... were inside the hut. I could phone people, but there was little or no signal and even if they had the key I was still stuck outside because they were no doubt miles away. We could stand outside in the rain for a few hours and catch pneumonia. Or we could break in.

I surveyed the hut. The upstairs window was open. I might be able to climb it but it was very wet. On the other hand, Eartha could climb it because I could hold her up nearly that high. I ...

Up Periscope!

The rain came down in sheets. There were gusts of wind that blew clouds of water across the motorway. The night was pitch black and spray from the road surface obscured the tail-lights of the cars infront. Many cars had their fog lights on to try to cut through the storm.

The rain beat continuously on the windscreen. I started to wonder how many thudding drops glass needs before it starts to ...

Week 3.

... not at all sober tasted terrible, just like everyone warned me about Britain) and meeting with the tutors (older workers of the university who opt to supervise a flat and are rather questionable with their intentions). My tutor for example bought the representatives of our flat 2 bottles of wine (mind you by representatives I mean me and Aggie), and made quite a few suggestive comments that the other flats at our table find quite humorous and a little creepy. All in all ...

We regained the motorway briefly, then left it again at Keele and came back cross country via Telford and Bridgnorth.

Just like on the way up, it took six hours, but despite this, the weekend was worth the struggle. The scenery in the fells has been fantastic and the walking marvellous. Lake Windermere is beautiful, even in the mist.
... up the backbone of Weatherlam. The dried bracken was a vivid orange, broken up with jutting grey rocks. As we climbed higher, the bracken gave way to closely cropped green and yellow grass, interspersed with russet coloured reed and wet moss. The local woolly sheep grazed contentedly, barely raising their heads to look at us struggling up through their territory. The still tarns reflected the perfect blue sky and jagged rocks.
<br ...

October Sky

The Michelin Route Finder suggested the journey to the Lake District would be 3 hours and 40 minutes. I know from experience that they are generally underestimating the real time, so I banked on about four and a half to five hours of driving. I collected Donny from school and we set off straight away.

The M6 was dreadful. It was handbrake driving - on, off, on, off, on, off - we managed less than 90 ...
