... used to produce power for a long time. Consequently, mills were built here. I haven't read up on all the history of them, but have a few photos of the information. I also went into their visitor centre. They have gone to a lot of trouble to make the valley accessible with walking trails and bits fenced off for safety. ... We ran into Maureen twice while walking around the shopping area.
We did find the items we were wanted, along with a few used books from the charity shop and custard tarts from Teale's bakery - something Paul misses almost as much as fish and chips and pork pies.

I didn't get back to the house until 8:30 as cricket didn't finish until quite late. I wolfed down the Sunday roast dinner and we went upstairs to get ourselves organised to spend the next three days in Manchester, which we are both really looking forward ...

... is nice but it is also quite small, something we will have to get used to compared to home. Nikko picked us up and we went down to the cricket club so I could have a net session before our friendly game tomorrow. I hit the ball okay but I think it will take a little while for me to adjust to the conditions and the formats of the games. We then went into the clubhouse which is s really cool setup. It is similar to the club house at home but they have an ...
