... ready for a three hour lake cruise in the rain. I think it is time for a cocktail. Page is a "country" town. It was founded in 1957 (to support the workers for the dam) so really it isn't that old. In the couple of days that we have been here, we have become very familiar with the laundromat, the car wash, the golf course (didn't play, just kept driving pass), the supermarket, ...
... waiting to go to the canyon..Italian, French, german, Japanese and others.... english was very much the minority. They herded us into pickup trucks that had bench seats down the middle (seating for 14) and a canopy over top and off we went. It was about a 10 min. drive down the highway and then another 20 min. up this sandy wash. The wind had picked up and at one point we went through a mini-twister. Lashed us all with sand and tumbleweed. The guy next to ...
... had time to pick our spots and enjoy the scenery and the serenity. Unfortunately, we enjoyed it a bit too much and had to hustle to get out of the canyon in time to be picked up by Overland for the short ride across the street to Upper Antelope Canyon.
We were picked up by "Nita" in a white Chevy Suburban which certainly beat some of the other tour companies (like Chief Tsosie's tours) that took people out in the bed of converted pickup trucks ...

View was great, and price, but there was a definite 'poopy' smell in the room. Everything looked OK, bathroom smelt deodorized, so we figured we'd just go with it. Until my wife lifted the toilet seat...
...found out what was causing the smell.
Don't know who left it, but cleaning staff sure didn't find/flush it!
