    Headed toward a church that sounded Bible-based. It might have been, but we got there to discover that the message may have been primarily in Chinese.     ... conversations with people they might see on a daily basis. All it takes an informal introduction, an offer to share a cigarette, a smile and a nod, and they spill their guts as if I have degrees on my wall and a hefty hourly rate.

    Everyone has a story to tell, and I want to hear it.

    We specifically made a trip out here for this tour, and it was worth the drive. Located an hour north of San Francisco is the Jelly Belly Factory. Its very easy to locate (you can see it from the freeway). There's plenty of parking, a cafe to get a bite to eat, and plenty of candy to sample.

    ... I wasn't able to book in, but the desk clerk unlocked the dining room's restroom (they are not called toilets or ladies rooms or bathrooms - I tried) and here I managed to buff - or at least brush my hair, teeth and splash a bit of water on my slits (that would be my eyes). I was allowed to also hand my backpack in for safekeeping and then I sat in the firepit outside and waited till the sun came up - and then I took to the streets. I just ambered along ...
