Up early having trouble sleeping but after another English breakfast buffet we drove into Barnsley City Centre and found a Market of over 203 stalls in progress but the weather has changed raining and very cold so we opted to walk around the city centre for a while. After coffee we then drove to Pots Hamper and met up with our friends for typical scones jam and cream and a few good laughs. Lovely cafe ...

We packed up our luggage and I had a quick phone call with mum on messenger and Skype with Steve. It certainly makes being away from home easier knowing we can contact them any time of the day. ... namely Brighton Pier and the White Cliffs of Dover (the latter of which we probably won't even be able to see until the morning), we decide to zig-zag north, taking in all the Neolithic stuff, and then make a break for the God's Own County. Stu sets the optimistic target of Thirsk for the evening. I think that might be a bit far, but we shall see.

OK, so first target is the Osmington White Horse. No, we've not heard of it either, but Osmington is just 20 miles ...

... over and during the Norman conquest it sustained large damage which is still present. It has large walls encasing the city center and vehicles have limited use inside the walls. I thanked the driver, checked in and laid all my wet clothes out to dry before having an early night.

Goal: Partake in conversation with Liams friends
Status: Small talk doable, anything more I didn't have the nerdiness to uphold
