If you live in the south, you never get snow, you don't even expect it! When the rare time comes around that you ACTUALLY get snow, all hell breaks loose! Even if it is a few flurries, you break everything warm out you have, and act like it is a freakin' blizzard!! Or at least that is what we do in my house. ... Cinnabon! Along hwy 35, Tad pulled off on a random exit and announced we were going to the Inner Space Caverns. He'd seen a billboard a few miles earlier and thought it looked fun. It was an amazing experience. We took a 1.5 hour guided walking tour underground through the cave, learning about how it was discovered, what minerals line it, and which animal fossils were found. ... the Rock Tower, we found a few more scenic sites, including a cave where a bird was patiently guarding her nest. Less patient, however, was an as of yet unidentified animal, who made a terrible noise when I stepped too close to wherever it was. Much discussion has ensued over the past few weeks as to sort of animal could emit such a sound, but perhaps we'll never know.

Hopefully we'll be able to get a few more out-of-town excursions documented before the long haul next ...

The day started out as usual. Bob up at the crack of dawn, me sleeping until 8:30 or so. The sun was peeping out from the occasional cloud until about noon, when it was mostly clear. The temp reach 65 or so with the occasional burst of wind which still brought the cedar, so no relief today.
