... spent our time drinking in the vista and taking photos. The photos we post will tell the tale plus the TV documentaries you have seen especially the Dan Snow trip following the steps of John Wesley Powell. Nothing compares with that first sight ...a real moment of awe and wonder. We drove around a little, stopping frequently to walk and take photos, then we took the shuttle bus ...one of those hop on hop off buses that take the route the cars can't. Don't these people know how to build roads with shoulders? This ...
... out and said "eh" while taking pictures which made the other tourists around us laugh and one even said "that's the best reaction I've ever heard" :-p The canyon was amazing until the thunder storm kicked in...this wasnt just a light shower, it was a full on electrical storm complete with land slides and lots and lots of rain! The lightning was hitting about 100 metres from where we were hidden! I'll be honest, I'm sure it crossed all of our minds that we might not make it ...
