We then drove back through another town about 20 miles away that had almost died when the silver ran out, but there were a few hardy souls who had stayed on and kept the town alive. We left Albuquerque this morning and drove to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. This town actually changed it's name from HOT SPRINGS to TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, because at that time there was a television show named Truth or Consequences, hosted by Ralph Edwards. Ralph visited the area and said if they would change the town's name he would give them advertising on his TV show. Well, they did, and they ...
... to come up and sit on the porch at the office and hang out. We were invited to the anniversary BBQ and the 2 following night get-togethers. Afterward everyone played games, played music and just hung out. It was a fun, fun time!
The area is a great place for ATV's and boating is just a few miles down the road. I would definitely stay again.
