... part of the forest was destroyed, but you see where the regrowth is starting to replenish the forest. There are plenty of hiking trails and a few rough camping places. You wouldn’t get a trailer or motorhome in these but a popup trailer or a truck camper would work. The drive takes us a couple of hours.

We finally hit a small town called Silver City, we stop for a late lunch and by the time we finish it is 4:00 pm. It seems to take a lot longer to get somewhere ...

... we would - a rather ramshackle town and looked a bit scary in places so thought wed stay in the hotel to eat. Hotel was a really old building and was OK but our room was a bit dark and pokey . ... cliff. The river carved the caves out ages ago and native people have been using the caves for thousands of years. The walls were added by a group that stayed in the fertile river valley for thirty years hunting and farming corn, beans and squash. The place still has thick soot deposits on the ceiling from over 700 years ago. We also bought a chile Christmas wreath for our RV.

The Pecan Groves were being harvested also, however we couldn't find any unshelled pecans yet.

Short stop and now off west to our usual first stop in SW Tucson for laundry and house cleaning before we head over to Tucson Mountain park for a week of camping in the Sonoran desert.

... silly and pruney, ate out till we exploded, then jumped in the RV and headed on down the road. T or C is another place I’d like to revisit in about 10 years and see what has come of it.

Well, another week completely wasted on the road with no good thing to show for it. Looks like we will probably be home in about two weeks, but not before we spend some time around Las Vegas (maybe for Halloween?) and Death Valley. Spooky fun!!
