... that turned into a saga - we tried several places that looked fine on the internet but were absolute **** when we arrived - and then after spending half an hour grid locked in traffic we eventually found a place near Universal Studios which had 2 rooms available! It wasn't flash and the rooms were tiny, but it was clean and the car was secure! Enough said! ... random swab haha. We then had time to sanitise our hands before going through to the very drab and dreary international area. Starbucks, Pizza Hut and one very small duty free shop is about it. Very strange for an international airport. We are now sitting here looking at a blank wall before we go and try out the Starbucks tea and coffee!! Hope the flight to London is a little less ...

We packed up the car early this morning with our ever growing luggage collection. Today was about just taking in the sights for one final time, and reaquaint ourselves with some of the sights from last time that we hadn't got to yet. We took our fully laden Captiva for a spin through Hollywood, and up into the hills, along Mullholland drive, checking our how the other half live. ... traffic jams everywhere! Although it was only 5am so I'd be shocks if there was rush hour traffic at this time. Our suitcases were scanned through an environmental scanner before we were allowed to check them in. Similar to the New Zealand airport the Honolulu airport had passport scanning machines which would print your flight boarding passes once you had signed in. I had to ask a staff member what we had to do with the adding bags option, she said we had to add one ...
