... Aus. We saw Anni and Michael in Munich in May. We all went out to lunch at a beautiful outdoor Tyrolean restaurant in the hills overlooking Kufstein. Back to relax and sit in the garden of the cottage overlooking the lake that had belonged to Anni's maternal grandmother. Then out to dinner overlooking the lake before all the travellers returned to Munich. Anni had arranged a lay-day for us at the hotel tomorrow, to catch up on ...

Drove the few kilometres to Oberammergau. I had been there in 2010 with my sister and brother in law to see the Passion Play, performed all summer of each decade since 17th century in thanks for being spared the plague. ... begins via numerous hairpin bends amid towering mountains, many bearing pockets of snow. By this time, the road was busier with not just cars, but also dozens of motorcyclists who must have been in seventh heaven, and cyclists powering on under their own steam in the rising temperature to fulfil a challenge of stamina and determination. At Edelweiss-Spitze, one of several parking areas serviced with eating places, gift shops and information points, we ...

... chocolate cake called Mohr Im Himd. We got back to the hostel around 9:30, I went and filled the bike up with petrol, packed it up and had a shower, and once again I find myself writing the blog quite late at night with an early morning on the cards tomorrow, but it's important to get it all done or I forget to write about so many interesting details. Tomorrow we ride to Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic, via Salzburg and then Linz, once again avoiding the toll ...
