Tranquility Bay is a time share rental/owner properties part of the Jolly Beach Resort. It's rated 3 stars and I would agree it fits that criteria. Generally pleased with the resort and would come back but there is definitely room for improvement. We lose water at least twice a week, the power goes out daily for about 15 - 30 mins and the rooms need small repair jobs. The apartments range from 1 bedroom on first and second floors to 2 bedroom on the second and third floors. The top floor (third floor) also boasts corner units with a big patio and jacuzzi tubs. One of them having gorgeous ocean views of the beach. You can still rent a time share if you don't own one just go through the tranquility bay website for more information. But people don't come here for the resort experience, they come for the beautiful beaches and the atmosphere. The locals and even other visitors to the resort are extremely friendly.
It's like a small community here, everyone knows everyone. We've been here two weeks and have made a few friends already.
While staying at the time share apartments, you have access to all the amenities at the Jolly Beach resort except for the all inclusive food/drinks. You do have the possibility of opting in for the AI meal plan but after doing our calculations, it's much cheaper (and more fun in our opinion) to walk to the grocery store and pick up what you want and control your spending budget. Which by the way, for us hasn't been that bad I'd say to budget about the same or less of what you spend weekly on groceries if you were back home.
The grocery store, small strip mall and pubs and restaurants are all walking distance from TBA. All open until 10pm. The prices are generally cheaper or on par with back in Canada. Just depends what you're picking up.
All in all I would definitely recommend this location as long as you keep in mind you won't et a 5 star service but you will get decent enough to still make your stay great.

... That was followed by the next to my Dad, not quite such a good connection, but still good to see, guessing everyone making Mother's Day calls!! That coupled with all the messages from the boys was marvellous and made me feel special and on top of the world. Craig put his mechanic hat on and stripped the dinghy outboard down. We have been exiled on board as it conked out half way to the marina and land, and shops yesterday. Hence no food, well there is always something in the ...

... all of the above, and the Pilot Guide does have a lot of fax numbers. Fortunately, the Caribbean is generally a laid back place so you can often do things ad hoc at the FBO (if there is one) or tower at the last minute and get by.
