This place is right at the southern most tip of Taiwan. There is a touristy destination nearby called Kenting, but we decided to come here instead because this was described as a great place to surf. What a marathon effort to get here. People usually only come to Jialehseui if they have a car or a scooter. We caught 2 trains from Hualien to Fangliao, then a bus to Hengchun then another bus to ...
... wear just a bikini but they were definitely not born women! Which is fine, but they tend to come over and try and give you lap dances for tips, which I wasn't really into but the Taiwanese guys there loved it! It's all in good fun but be warned guys who go there!
Like I said, I love Kenting and if you go to Taiwan you have to go and visit because it is so much fun and the scenery is so beautiful! Can't wait to come back to Taiwan and chill out on Nanwan beach again!
... staying outdoors was not a good choice.
We had a siesta and ventured out again at night as there was a night market right outside our hostel (The Fu Bin Hostel). We had delicious barbequed squid and papaya salad (a tad too chilli for us) and also rewarded ourselves for an exhausting 5 weeks of pounding the pavement with a much needed foot massage which was excruciating as well as therapeutic at the same ...
... but we still enjoyed good food and times well spent with good friends...even if Sam did manage to land us in a transvestite strip bar

I was eager to check out the fast train. The train was clean and it was fast, but, I still prefer the Shinkansen bullet trains in Japan. My next stop is Vietnam starting in Hanoi...it was time to return to the affordability (and hear and humidity) of Southeast ...
