Trailways Hotel Nelson

... I opted for a 5 hour stroll around town. It was pretty cool out, so I didn't get too hot. The next few days I spent looking in shops, talking to random people in cafe's, and visiting the little towns outside of Nelson. I'm guessing the Golden bay area would be a prime spot to be during the summer because the beaches and waves are amazing, the fruit picking is good, and the city is a good size.

... water row to make and the seas where a bit rough at times for a total of 17 kilometers but we finally made it back to Kaiteriteri to catch the coach back again to Motueka and pick up our campervan. It was somewhat sad to say good bye to these very interesting people with which we had shared these adventures. We headed back again to Mapua to stay at the same campsite being too happily tired to drive much further.

as i write this i'm looking out the window at a fully working container port which has had me awake half the night cos of the noise of forklifts I'm in nelson about 15 min walk from the town centre which itself is a pain in the custom house which is other wise a good friendly hostel i spent a sleepy day to day just walking round nelson and taking a look at the place for a few hours then heading round the bay ...

... our camp spot for the night, just opposite Tonga Island. It was deserted except for us (no one else mad enough to brave the wind and the rain), and we set up camp early evening. I can't say it was the best experience, putting up tents in the rain and watching them get soaked through, but it did certainly add to our sense of adventure. Dinner of seafood tagliatelle that night was exactly the warmth we needed to increase our body temperatures for the night ahead ...

Donderdag 22 mei Een dagje Takaka is genoeg. Om 10:00 check ik uit de hostel en blijf nog even hangen. Een half uur voordat de bus vertrekt boek ik de bus bij het informatie bureau. Geweldig het winterseizoen. Een slingerige rit van ongeveer een uur brengt mij in Motueka. Dit plaatsje is vooral voor werkers in de fruitpluk en is niet een plaats waar je te lang wilt blijven. In de ochtend ontdekte ik dat 1 van mijn favouriete linnen broeken het na mijn fietstochtje van gister, nu toch echt begeven had. Vandaag was het dus tijd om te winkelen!! Enthousiast trokken ik en Erika de stad in, want het is hier zomeruitverkoop!! Een nieuwe broek en vest
