Chamber Choir's First Concert
Greetings once again from Beijing, China! (That still gives me the chills!)
Today was splendid, wonderful, fantastic for many reasons. I will rely on a couple of links to provide the words that I may have trouble conveying. I'm unsure in what order to proceed - chronological, choir or historical. I think I shall stay in chronological order …
Farewell Qingdao, Hello Beijing
Yesterday was supposedly Paul's day off. We awakened at 5 a.m. and until 11 a.m. he kept saying, "Just one more thing, and then we'll go play." He hasn't changed! But since it now was his half-day off he got to choose what to see. We took the bus to old Qingdao to see the German architecture and then walked down to the beach. We strolled along the …
The Gaytan Sisters Go To CHINA
The Gaytan Sisters are going to China! We barely slept with the anticipation of going to China for the very first time. Ms. Newman asked me if I'd like to go on the China trip that she is taking her students on so I told Rina and she said she’d like to go and Gaby didn’t want a Quinceanera so my parents decided to give her the trip …
Ne-How Beijing
Traders Hotel in Beijing is beautiful, extra clean and we woke up to an amazing breakfast. They had everything I could think of and more… Breakfast was by stations so every morning I went to the egg station and the very nice Chinese man made me a delicious omelet and of course I had hash browns with tons of ketchup… YYYummzzzie! I tried …
Ni Hao Beijing
We're in China!
This is our first trip to China and our first experience with a tour group. So far so good. After the horrible flight with no in-flight entertainment, we were met at the airport by the tour guide. There was a sign with "China Spree" (our tour group) on it. I was really hoping they'd have our names on the sign, that would …

TravelPod Member ReviewsTraders Hotel Beijing
The hotel is nice and clean.
If you leave your shoes in a basket, they will shine them for you at no cost.
They gave us a transformer so we could convert power to charge up our computers, phones, and camera batteries.
The hotel was completely sold out so we had two smaller beds instead of one big one. Sharing the smaller bed was a bit tight.
Breakfast was a comedy of errors.
