We arrived in Beijing at 6pm. What a magnificent looking airport. The new terminal recently opened in time for the Olympics, and is truly a sight. The parking structure is also amazing to look at and is beautiful in its architecture. We met our guide, Evelyn (her chosen name in English) and our driver, Mr. Tien. The Trader's Hotel has a HUGE buffet with all kinds of items from which to choose and have set the bar high. We begin the day by stuffing ourselves since we don't know what lunch will provide. Beijing recap. It is 11:30pm on January 1, 2009 and Tami and I finally have a little break from our travels. We actually have a quiet night tonight to reflect and warm up from our three days in Beijing. ... photos of the roof where you could clearly see the astronomical instruments and the information boards were also in English (such a common think even here in China). Then I walked back to the bus stop at the World Trade Center. A long walk....probably 3 miles....thankfully the bus was 25 min late because I got there 5 min before the bus did. Worked out fine. I bought a clossaine vase for Lynn at the hotel shop and then packed for my flight home in the morning.
