Arrived 3am and it's a lovely hotel. Spent first day wandering around the Shangri La souk and then the Marine Mall for lunch. Back for a swim in the pool - like being in the bath and its 47 degrees - like being in an oven! Then a visit to the Grand Mosque where I had to wear an abaya. It was so hot walking around but so cool inside the white marble mosque. Finished my first day with a paddle and temp has dropped to 42! Drinking water like it's going out of fashion!

All these experiences are definitely moving us closer together and it’s a pleasure to learn more and more about everybody. ...

Heritage Village is a replica of a typical coastal village settlement in the UAE more than 50 years ago, which includes: domestic structures, fenced areas for animals (including chickens and camels), a mosque and a small souk. Camels were the prized possession of the ...

I feel relaxed enough to have a glass of Champagne. Kae insisted that I take the big suitcase 'in case' I find things to buy that she might like. This is now not looking like ...

... to the business lounge for a delicious breakfast and even a foot massage! What a treat to be able to stretch out and not have people climbing over me every hour or so. Unfortunately the same option was not available for the next leg as the flight was full - even first class. So I went for a wander around Abu Dhabi airport and found somewhere to sit and blog before the final ...
