Let's go Snowboarding!

Had a great day in Kobe yesterday - enjoyed the sunshine, had a look around the shops and then finished off the day in a bar, where we had a good laugh at the adventures of the last few weeks. Those big lockers in the train stations are extremely handy! From there it was on to the coach to the airport, where I sat at the back and enjoyed a nice can of Asahi beer while reflecting on the experiences of my trip. The flight to Dubai wasn't at all bad, but at 10hrs30mins, it's the longest one I've...

Dune Bashing & Long Walks

Well, it's been an eventful few days! On Wednesday I went on a Desert Safari excursion. Pickup was around lunchtime so I just lazed around the pool in the hotel again and watched a bit of TV. Days of Thunder was on - great film. I was picked up from the door in a Toyota Landcruiser. We had to go to another hotel to pick up another group, and from there it was off to the desert. Our particular spot was around 45mins drive. We stopped half way there to meet the other cars. Much to my surprise ...

Top Time at Traders

from Gullivers
We have just returned home from a trip to Turkey & Greece where we had a two night stop over at the Traders Hotel in Dubai. There is nothing but praise for this hotel. From check in to check out, everything was simply perfect. Our stay coincided with the start of Ramadan so the hotel was down on occupancy however the service wasn't. The front desk staff were extremely polite & helpful, the security staff were fantastic, housekeeping staff couldn't be better & the restaurant/breakfast was very nice. We were sorry we only had two nights there.

The rooms were a good size & well appointed. Bathrooms were marble & very clean. Nice bed & nice pillows & as every traveller knows you really appreciate a good bed & a decent pillow. Plenty of good quality linen in the bathroom.

We can thoroughly recommend this hotel & it's proximity - close to airport & not far from shopping centres.

Super Hotel!

I stayed there with my wife for 4 nights last week as we were in Dubai to celebrate our 1st anniversary. We arrived at the hotel early as our flight from UK landed at Dubai at 7.00am. The hotel staff immediately checked us into our room before 9.00am even though check-in is at 2.00pm. Having read some of the other reviews I have to agree with the majority of them; the staff were really friendly, attentive and helpful. We slept in most days and didn't have the hotel breakfast until the last day. I have to admit it was excellent! Not the usual 'continental' breakfast buffet fare. Freshly cooked eggs made the way you like it in front of you + a real good selection! I wish we had eaten in the hotel more often! The location was OK, we normally travelled by taxi and all the sights, shopping centres etc were only a short journey away. Although going to Jumeira Beach can take some time during peak hours of the day and costs around DHS40-50. Go to Deira City Centre mall for only DHS10 taxi ride and catch the sightseeing bus which starts from there and takes you all over the city. I would definately stay here again (although next time I go I would like to try the beach hotels) and reccommend it to anyone.

Best 4* City hotel in dubai

from A TripAdvisor Member
I'm a travel agent by trade and took plenty of time in making my selection for my trip to dubai. The trader's hotel proved to be the perfect choice. The taxi journey was approximately 10 minutes, which after a long flight is a delight on entering the building i was greeted at reception by friendly and prompt staff who knew my name before i even handed over my voucher (nice touch). They're very much on the ball here nothing is ever too much trouble. We opted for room service on a couple of nights and less than 20 minutes after putting the phone down to reception the doorbell went and my food arrived hot and excellently presented. Taxi's always available outside the hotel and very reasonable all air-conditioned and never cost more than £10 to go anywhere about town. Free transfers daily to Al Mumzer beach too! I would not hesitate to return fantastic destination fantastic hotel.

An Amazing Hotel...Highly Recommended

from DaveJacqM
As seasoned worldwide travellers (and very fussy about hotels!!!) it's great to be able to post a review about a brilliant hotel. We generally stay in 4 or 5 star hotels and can honestly say that Traders Hotel ranks amongst the very best, regardless of price. We stayed here with two friends for 5 nights and right from the minute we arrived until the minute we left we could not fault ANYTHING about this hotel. We arrived at 9.00am and despite the check in being 2.00pm they quickly cleaned two high floor rooms (our request) and within 30 minutes we were presented with keys. Both rooms were superb, not the largest of rooms, but immaculately clean, modern and well equipped. The bathrooms were spotless and had both fountain showers and seperate baths all surrounded by clean marble floors and walls. We dined in the hotel on the first evening (something we would NEVER usually do) and had a superb three course meal that was first class and reasonably priced.

One of the most impressive things about Traders was the staff, they really were the most helpful, happy, courteous and attentive we have found anywhere in the world....and whilst nothing was too much trouble not one of them waited or even hinted at receiving a tip.

Traders has now set a standard for us that every hotel we visit will have to live up to. RECOMMENDED WITHOUT HESITATION!!!!!!!!!!

Disrespectful bell boys.

from A TripAdvisor Member
Generally, the room, restaurants, and lobby area was nice and clean. The only problem I had, and felt very about was that one of the bell boys working there utterly discrespected my wife and I. What had happened was that my wife and I had come back home after a wonderfull dinner out in town, and upon entering the lobby, the bell-boy on duty came directly to us and asked my wife (not me) to view her passport. At first, i didnt understand why he would ask her for her passport. Then it had slowly dawned on me,..he implied that my beautiful wife was something she wasnt. I started to get very very upset and started to curse him. I was at the point of wanting to physically harm him until the desk manager came and asked what was the situation. After everything was explained he grossly apologized to my wife and myself and even had the manager come up to our room an hour later to apologize again. Even the day time manager wanted to apologize too but we were checking out early that morning.

Frankly, I would not stay or recommend this hotel to anyone. Granted the facility had apologized for the bell-boys disrespectful manor, still he must have been trained or advised to ask for womens passport implying that all women coming through the doors with a gentleman are likely prostitutes.

To me, and my wife, the experience we went through at the Traders hotel was a slap in the face.

Outstanding

Having spent a fair bit of time in Dubai and the Gulf generally on business I can honestly say this was easily the best hotel experience I've had in the region. The staff are exceptionally friendly, helpful and extremely professional. The rooms are stylish, facilities excellent and it's well-located in Deira (which, given we were in Dubai to buy an engagement ring at the Gold Souq was very handy!)

Not exactly cheap, but surprisingly affordable by Dubai hotel standards. I've stayed in other places in Dubai and I'd recommend this over any of them (and have done).

Loved Traders

from King_Henrik
we stayed in Traders for 3 nights and couldnt fault it.

Rooms were excellent- spacious and immaculate.

Food was very good with a lot of choice each day.

Staff were fantastic. Always welcoming and looking to see if they can help you out in any way at all.

Only potential negative is its location- its not close to any of the major sights and everything is a taxi journey away- which is not unusual in dubai.

Overall- very good hotel and easily recommended to anyone looking for a good base to explore the city.

A week at Traders, Dubai

I cannot fault this hotel or staff, they ensured my stay in Dubai was superb. Surely more than a 4*

Excellent Value

from mdryden
My daughter and I have just spent six nights in the Traders and have nothing but praise for the lovely staff and general ambience of the hotel. It easily rates it's 4* star rating and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only slight criticism is the difficulty in finding the tranfer vehice at the airport. We gave up and took a taxi but the return to the airport was excellent. Also the complimentary beach and shopping centre transfers are very useful. We will go back..

Exceptional facilities superb staff and a great location

from A TripAdvisor Member
A brand new hotel with brand spanking new facilities. From the moment you walk in to checkout you are made to feal like royalty. The decor of the hotel is tastefull and not over powering. Modern yet culturaly fused.

The rooms are well equiped with exceptional standards that you may only epect in 5 star hotels.

Tea/coffee making facilities in room, complementary water bottles, hair driers mini bar etc etc.

The bathroom is superbly designed with modern look and feel. We had a buffet breakfast which catered for a wide range of tastes and was not limited in any way.

I have to say that the staff were the best I have seen. Immaculately dressed and professional in every way.
