... Crossing the road was the first obstacle we faced. Traffic lights are not so common, roundabouts even less, so it's a free for all at the junctions. There are zebra crossings - but they may as well not be there as no one passes remarks on them. You take a deep breath and slowly start to edge you way across the road, and they move around you like a shoal of fish. Daunting at first but quickly becomes second nature.
