    Our guides around the onsen spoke little English, but were very funny as they shooed us around and pointed to paragraphs on our translated pamphlet.

    ... bliss; a huge downhill stretch with no pedalling for ages. It was soooo good! There was a rose garden not far off the main track so we went there. Dave and Ben got their girlie on and we all were amazed by the range and colour of all the roses. It was a lovely garden and they were all in bloom.     We we also caught up with the Botchan train, which are replica steam locomotives, now running at 10km/h serving a route through Central Matsuyama. Originally the IYO Railway Company was established in 1887, and it had the first small sized locomotives in Japan, imported from Germany. It ran between Matsuyama and Mitsubishi for 60 years.
