It's unbelievable that such good quality beef is so ...

... through and is famous for it's many onsen. Everywhere were ducts letting out steam and signs for onsen. We stopped for lunch in a tiny cafe. To my horror, I found out the local speciality here...horse meat. Most things on the menu were horse and there was no way my favourite animal would ever end up in my stomach. Luckily they had some fried chicken and vegetable croquettes. Dave decided to try horse meat with rice which apparently was good. We had a look in some gift ...

... inn) place at Ito about an hour and a half south of Tokyo that had space, happy days I booked up a place in Tokyo for a week and then this place which got me around Golden week, too long in Tokyo for my liking really but beggars can't be choosers eh? So with a few more unglamorous travel chores done like laundry etc I had a chance to have a wander around Kumamoto, visited the customary castle which had some Samurai type ...
