... Hakata Traditional Craft and Design Museum. There were many Hakata dolls here and the shop owner showed us many samples and told us about their history and some details about their production. The dolls are very beautiful and the authentic ones that are original in design and hand-painted are very expensive - thousands of dollars. We were directed to a famous shopping street called the Hakata Kawabata Shopping Arcade. It is a 400-meter arcade, the ...

We had a very nice buffet breakfast at our hotel this morning. At 9 am Kumiko Asami arrived in front of the hotel in her little green Suzuki to pick us up and take us to the train station where we met Haruyo Handa and Kazuko Yamaguchi. ... the traditional futon style. They were very comfy. Day 122 Breakfast this morning was served in a dining room and we had chosen the Japanese style. It was another massive load of food, all little plates. The only thing I refuse to eat at all here is natto. It is fermented soy beans. They look foul, all stringy and glutinous so I can't imagine how it smells. Then it was time to leave this paradise and we got a lift to the bus stop to go to our next fleeting visit to Mt ...

... inn) place at Ito about an hour and a half south of Tokyo that had space, happy days I booked up a place in Tokyo for a week and then this place which got me around Golden week, too long in Tokyo for my liking really but beggars can't be choosers eh? So with a few more unglamorous travel chores done like laundry etc I had a chance to have a wander around Kumamoto, visited the customary castle which had some Samurai type ...
