    ... was feeing weary so headed back for a nap, but Orla & Kayla carried on to see several other temples, including , Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu, and Kencho-ji. It felt like a taster for what we would see in Kyoto later in the week, with the small bamboo groves and beautiful garden temples.

    Our next day, Tuesday, was more relaxing. Mostly because it was bucketing rain all day. But we still got up early and went to watch some sumo practice ...

    ... conditions.
    We were lucky, there was some rain, it was windy but not so bad that it would have been uncomfortable to climb. As long as we were climbing things, we kept warm. Resting becomes unpleasant as you are getting cold so quickly.

    Towards to top it got a bit congested, there was a constant flow of climbers but noting to annoying. It looked really cool, seeing the line of head-torches bumping up and down, traveling they're way ...

    ... Just meant we were waiting in the freezing cold, huddled together for 3 hours before the sun came up. When it did, we were relieved a) because we saw a beautiful sunrise and b) because it meant we could start moving again and get feeling back to our hands and feet.     ... coughs, snores and especially the movements of the fellow climbers across the floor, I somehow managed to sleep 2x 30 minutes before the clock reached 1:00 am.
