We started by having lunch with Vikas and Anjali's friend's in St Simon Island at the Tup Tim Thai restaurant. I haven't had such good thai food in a while. While waiting for everyone to arrive, Vikas and I strolled into a local beer shop where they brew their own beer and also we can buy draft beer in Growlers(portable beer bottles).

While we were in Jacksonville, we met several great folks in and around the marina. In fact, Ortega Landing had quite a social calendar for their slip holders and guests, so we enjoyed a pot luck dinner one evening and luau another while there. Some fellow cruisers and AGLCA (American Great Loop Cruising Association) members, Tom and Patsy Conrad, were there on their Nordic Tug, True North, ...
We knew this event would be a long-shot in terms of actual influence we'd be able to have with students over closer schools like Candler and Duke. Indeed, we were right. We got very few cards out of the event and, worse yet, a lot fewer prospectives showed up than were advertised would be there (about 50 out of an advertised 150 people).It was a good try but, going forward, I think it's a wiser use of funds to forego this ...
