... to which a bloke sat on the outside veranda found this most amusing. We somehow managed to get to the left side of town by Del Ray Marina. So we cycled up around the marina, enjoying our first sight of water in weeks. It was a bit like a maze, but we finally found the beach at the top end by the breakwaters. Today we visited Santa Monica and had a fantastic day, I absolutely loved it there! It was a 40 minute bus ride to Santa Monica from our hotel and it was nice to see a bit more of LA from the air conditioned bus (and only cost $1! bargain!). In general, most of the housing and buildings were what I expected, in the sense that they were built into the sides of hills, and used a lot of stone. However, the reality of being in Israel . . . continued to have me in awe!

That night Mark and I walked to Polly's Restaurant for a lovely dinner and my first taste of Israel. The restaurant ambiance couldn't have been better! As ...

... much it. Our flight to Peru was pretty arduos as we had a boring 18 hour stopover in Fort Lauderdale airport. This was only livened up by then occasional announcement for missing belongings, included the best ever airport announcment: "If you are missing a shoe please come and collect it from security" Five minutes later the shoe was obviously ...
