When she had enough, she put them in a pot with some water and salt and she placed it on three bricks that were separated by three long thick branches which were smoldering. We then proceeded into the field to see how they irrigated their garden using foot pumps to bring water from a near-by stream; the signing ladies followed us into the garden. Before the garden, they usually ate one meal a day; now they feed twenty-five people three meals a day and sell the excess.
