    ... hiding in the kitchen and shutting down.

    Each day that went by was like another blow to my heart...knowing I had only a few days left to spend with my husband before he left for Liberia...for such an unknown time...and trying to give him the space and time with his own family as well...so I was just going back and forth emotionally with being involved and then trying to back off, being involved and backing off...I was exhausted emotionally.

    We have spent most of today waiting for our flight to Honolulu at San Fran airport. We were just about to board when it was announced our plane had 'lavatory' issues. A part had to be flown from Chicago which means nearly a nine hour delay for us. Joy!     ... it is the most idyllic setting for study with a fantastic panoramic view as you come back down the road.

    We headed back to Theodora's house in time to see the sunset from the roof of the house, and then spent the evening while she prepared a great feast for us and her housemates. It was a great way to really get to know her California "family" and both Alex and I came away feeling that Theodora had really found a great group of people to live with..
