    ... make the same round trip by car as we did in 1975.... This time the rental car has a GPS system with spoken directions in English. In 1975 we had a Japanese roadmap that also showed the city names in English and that was it. The rental car employee who delivered the car to our hotel in 1975 said with a smile when he handed us the keys: "tomorrow you bring car back" - he didn't think we would be able to make the road trip.     ... way. She will soon belong to another man. A man that I fully expect will love and cherish her as I do. What a wonderful trip with one of the best travel companions ever. Not a single complaint. At times when I was feeling a little down and ready for the trip to be over, not that she could tell, she kept smiling and was so excited to get out and see the next new site.     ... Two bike boxes carrying one standard touring bike (mine) and one brand new, spiffy, collapsible baby blue Co-motion tandem bike for the folks.
    2) Two gigantic roller duffel bags packed to the splitting point; weighing in at 65 lbs each.
