    Last Great Day/Eighth Day

In the afternoon leading into the Last Great Day, we went back to Jungle Jim's to purchase some more special foods, some of them for gifts. Then we went back to the mall to look for some shoes for Martin. As it turned out, all four of us ended up buying some shoes, although Martin didn't find his in the mall, but in Marshall's nearby. It is dangerous for me to enter a shoe store, as I will often find something I like, and I have enough pairs of ...

... remembered her well from nine years ago. It was cool to see the different offices and cubicles, and the TV studio and mail rooms. Now when I call the Home Office, I can better picture the personnel there at work.

After a nice dinner in our room, we went downstairs to the Music Jam. It was mostly bluegrass-type music, but I found it very entertaining although I didn't know most of the songs. I especially enjoyed the ...

The last couple of days have been filled with spiritual food, fellowship, and fun! We have had some excellent messages. A couple that stood out included a sermon from Mr. John Paul Jones, "Are You Spiritually Asleep?", and a very interesting sermon from Mr. Paul Hadley about God's plan for the animals. No "new truth" of course, but I don't think I've ever heard a sermon just about how the animals fit into God's plan. It waas fitting because children ...

... off tochoir practice. We sang "Our God Is An Awesome God" for the afternoon service - a piece I hope to do with the choir in Charlotte some time soon. It is a very energetic and inspiring piece!

Soon after services, there was a buffet dinner for which people had bought tickets ahead of time. It was very classy, and the tables reminded me of those we ate around, at the Greensboro Women's Enrichment Weekend back in June. I waas hoping to get to sit ...

We left our house just before 9 am on the Sabbath (26th) and drove to the Knoxville UCG congregation. It was easy to find the location, a high quality conference center with various different rooms, often apparently used for weddings, etc. Mr. Stan Martin, the pastor, was already in Jekyll Island, since he coordinates the Feast there this year.

Lacy & Frances Mayes were there, and later, Barbara & Madalene arrived. They had already ...
