Day 1 in Virginia

A travel blog entry by 1krafty1

Arrived in Virginia at 9 in the morning with only about 3 hours sleep. I had to take a couple of hour nap in order to make it through the day, but it worked. I was able to go 9 holes of golf with my Son, Eric and my Grandson, Justin this afternoon.

A wonderful dinner of steak, mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus, all prepared by my grandson.

It was a great way to start this trip. I am looking forward to a great time with the family. ...

... receive the mark of irresponsibility- a neon yellow tag that screams in large letters "LATE CHECK IN." The attendant informs me my luggage is "not guaranteed" since it arrived so late. I shrug, head to security and make it to my gate as the first group is boarding. Fewf. I'll at least make it to NC today. ... to Drive to the Wright Brother Memorial. Lucky we didn't spend too long at the first Museum as the last tour was 4pm, which we arrived just in time for. We then walked up to the top of the Hill and viewed the Memorial. An impressive Museum, and amazing to think, first flight started on that very site.

Finally we drove into Chesapeake, and to our Hotel for the next two nights. Tomorrow we plan to visit Virginia Beach.

Lots of Love Les & Caroline ...
