    sky was overcast and the A/C was doing a good job of cooling the vehicle. No burned out compressor here! I think it was just so hot nothing could cool things down. Haven't had to use the generator for the roof air yet, so we are hoping it will work when we need ...

    ... loving the meals I recall so fondly from 20 (!) years ago. Brynn loved the dirty rice, Annie loved the ribs, and Katie loved the smoked sausage. On the road with full tummies, we were back on I-10 east. The girls slept soundly for 90 minutes and somehow we'd all magically digested our lunch enough to be ready for drive-thru milkshakes for snack.     Following John's tactic, we set our early Tuesday morning the 27th to be at the front of the queue for admission to St. Mark's Basilica at San Marco. We succeeded beyond expectations and found ourselves first in the queue much like John the previous day at the Campanile. Not having posted John's winning form previously, it is included along with Sara's.

    ... LSU, so we decided to hit the highway again to find cheaper accommodation further out. Eventually came across a Tanger outlet mall with loads of restaurants and hotels nearby, so have pitched up somewhere called Gonzales, LA.

    Went for a walk around the shops, had dinner at Chilis and now back to the hotel for bed :)

    Drop the car off in New Orleans tomorrow, which will be the last leg of the tour :( It's been amazing, and I hope New Orleans gives us a good send ...
