... there to look at them. They were having a ski jumping event going on. Little did we know that they use these ski jumps in the summer by watering them down. They had a meet going on in the smaller jumps where they land in a pool. That was fun to watch.

We rode the chairlift up to the big lift, then took an elevator up to the top where the skiers jump from. We will have a totally different ...

It would have been a shame to miss a paddling opportunity after coming up to Saranac Lake. Otto kindly offered to take us to the Franklin Falls Flow - an easy and pleasant paddling experience. We passed the section of the river that has rapids for a mile or so - was it class 2 or 3?

All the time I had gone hiking in the high peak region, I never thought to check ...

The term "camp" is misleading as many of these are multimillion dollar properties. We heard the story of Mabel Smith Douglass who mysteriously drowned after boating only to be found ...

        ... trail...that's Colorado.

Now, imagine you are at the bottom of the hill/mountain you want to hike. Find the gully or ditch. This is how water travels from the top of the mountain to the bottom. That's the trail! Just go up that wet, steep incline with huge boulders and mud. Talk about a slog up that mountain. It was HUMID. I couldn't tell if I really was sweating or if it was all the humidity in the air that was condensing on my skin! And then huffing ...
