Left Chicago and started route 66! Got some photos of the sign but it was hard cus it is on a main road! Got to the Abraham Lincoln memorial cemetery which was pretty surreal bit slept there overnight as it was quiet and no one was around! There were cyotes and wild animals around so very aware we were in mid America more ...

... u hear a lot but I think most of us in this modern society have truly lost touch with realizing this. We are all too caught up in superficial goals, expectations etc. I am working on not being like this on a daily basis. Its tough but I don't want to regret a damn thing when I die....hopefully at a very old age. I want to look back with a infinite list of memories of friends, family and all the love I've experienced.

... and I to Cicero-strangely will miss the job but not the commute. Even the commute at times, it's hard to explain but sometimes you "crave" getting in your car for a long drive, seeing the sights you do in an area quite different from the one you live in.

Tonight it's packing up the car, taking care of our kitties, and getting a good night's sleep before we hit the dusty trail painfully early-we're driving to Albany, NY the first night.
