... were so clear and crisp and bright. The next day we woke to the aftermath of a storm, which meant a wavy sea. Not big waves, but big enough for you to dive under (as in YOU, not me, oh no no no bloody way mate!) and try and surf on (but they never got that far as the waves where quite weak). ... But at least they broke on an island where shoes aren't a necessity. Our first full day we were up bright and early and on the beach soaking up the sun, reading and generally doing what you do on an island - not very much. Caz did make friends with some fish who cleaned her feet for her and we both managed to take shade underneath a coconut tree without being hit on the head and killed by a falling coconut (this actually causes more deaths than you'd realise!). ... we still have a room when we eventually get there. Guess that’s the problem you have when you are running late on a single track railway, and have to keep stopping on the double tracks in the stations to let the other trains pass. They are certainly going to beat the British rail companies on punctuality - C’est la vie en Malaysia.
