--> unfreundliche Begruessung, chaotische ...

Brisbane & Surfers Paradise

... to our selves and for once in my life i actually played pretty well either getting a strike or getting spares so i was pretty happy with myself! After here we headed to another few clubs ending up at the last club called the 'Bedroom' which was a nightclub full of beds and bar girls dressed in sexy corsets. Was a pretty good and messy night, i was dancing on the dance floor all night like a mad man waving my hands in the air probably looking a bit of a **** but i didnt care once ...

Surfers paradise is a paradise if you are a surfer

... After two exhausting hours we gave up having not successfully caught a wave and got to our feet. Its much easier to stay on your belly, i'll remember for next time! Tomorrow we head for head for the very different beach town of Byron Bay, its been described as a hippy travellers town which has had very little development in the last 20 years. It should be interesting compared to the commercial life and high rise blocks of Brisbane and Surfers Paradise....

... absolute age to get back home. The Gold Coast has turned out to be one of those places where I just keep bumping into people that I haven't seen in ages. Whether its people from my time in the U.K., mates from back home or friends of friends. The amount of time I have been cruising around in typically laid back gold coast style and heard my name called by is starting to become surreal.

Lamington, land of lianes and leeches

After a three day relaxation period in Brisbane we drove a few hours south to Lamington Rainforest National Park. It was my first time in a rainforest, and it was exactly as imagined (minus the monkeys). We spent our days doing some field work collecting leaves and counting species as well as taking fabulous hikes throughout the rainforest ...

Surfer's Paradise

Just stopped here for a few hours on the way though on the coach to have a look. It has a reputation as the 'Blackpool' of the East coast. As you can see by the photos it's v high-rise and v touristy. Nice beach though, but incredibly busy....glad I'm just passing through!!

... a must for me to visit the amusement park, even I was alone. Anyway, the park was compact enough to enjoy all the attractions in a day, which was better than larger parks like Disneyland. All the attractions were not so bad, but the most memorable one was Police Academy theater with a full of actions and effects. Parade was just O.K. with heroes from Warner Bros' movies. Except the park and Ripley's ...

... walk it took to get us here and armed myself with a mini golf club and set out to conquer the first egyptian themed course. After completing both the egyptian and jurassic themed courses we had a intense and hysterical game of air hockey.A best of 3 match which laura won and i was in denial about. The walk back didnt seem desirable but unlike our walk here going back was faster and dare i say it enjoyable. We stopped off at a tattoo parlor for laura was ...
