Mandi Slept ok but both of us feeling a bit scratchy-eyed or -throated. I think it's probably the terrible air-con and hope not another cold! This is an odd hotel. There's the air-con issue, which despite our asking twice has never been solved - or, rather, no-one has even attempted to solve. This means that in order to survive we have the window open so we can hear the panicky air-raid announcements all night, and the door open unless we're actually asleep, while the air-con continues to blo...
Seoul, Korea Rep. grahamandmandi... picked up some of her food and put it in his bowl, and then did the same for me. She didn’t say a word, probably because she didn’t speak English. It was very funny. Ray is from Florida, and has the southern charm. He eats everything he is given with no hesitation; he is such a good sport.<br><br>Once Yu-Hwan felt we were fortified it was back to ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. followmolly... just glad I got some antibiotics. Over all the experience was OK. Only thing I really didn’t like is the fact that they don’t really tell you any thing. They just do it and I guess you just suppose to partake. Like I said what a trip.<br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><b r><br>Tags: South Korea<br><br><br> Print This Post <br><br><br>« Day 13 Sept ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. cwienke... here.<br><br>That's why it was a pleasure to treat them to 갈비. Kalbi is my favorite Korean meal. Just a overall experience with sitting in front of a fire and eating meat wrapped in lettuce (or other) leaves. In the US, it is often called Korean BBQ. Which I think is a misnomer since it is nothing like American BBQ!<br><br>We had arranged for me to come back at 8 pm to have dinner with them. We had to do ...
Seoul, Seoul, Korea Rep. christensenlow... winning prizes in a gym full of rock solid competitive speakers. After that we had gym and then I sought out Sally for directions to a doctor for some drugs. She wrote me a note and I was of at the end of the day. I showed a cabbie the note and he took me to a building not to far from CIS. I had to search around a bit but soon found that the office was closed. A kind dental assistant wrote me directions to another clinic. There I waited 15 minutes to see a ...
Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi, Korea Rep. morpheous... So, she teased me and said that I was a 노총갓 (an old bachelor). At 34, I'm an old bachelor! So funny!<br><br>But the whole family teases me for such things as saying 아이고! (aigo!)...something that only older men say! And just my idiosyncracies. But I think I have been doing pretty good at enculturating myself enough that I don't stand out too much :)
Seoul, Korea Rep. christensenlow... Still enjoying my time here. I've been trying some different things with my "challenging" students and some of it seems to be working. Granted, I have it pretty easy, as most of my kids are really great. There are just a few that are out of control. This past week I've been really exhausted, I think as a result of the change in seasons. Spring here has been absolutely wonderful, however summer is lurking just around the corner and I can start to feel the heat and humidity ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. truddick... Travel you must... I got some good news today. As has been planned, my folks are coming to Korea next month and also my little sis. I am ecstatic. I hope to show my family (minus one other little sister) the joys of Korea. As the clock rolls on I have a few precious weeks left to get stuff organized, stuff for my dad, mom, and now sister. As well I'll need to hunt ...
Uijeongbu, Korea Rep. morpheous... on their phones inside the subway train and then make a phone call as well. It is a city where the floors are the source of heat and not some radiator or machine. It is a city where no matter where you go the smell of kimchi is everywhere. Our next report will be on the road. We will be traveling outside of Seoul in the next week so we will have some stories then to tell especially once Willa's parents arrive.
Seoul, Korea Rep. willa_andrew... around smooth sailing. We really want to arrive safely and in good spirits.
