Anchored off the town clearing customs. We have our last expedition recap by the Captain and Nicolas. The captain informs us the typhoon that was coming our way has now changed course and is heading away from us which is good. I received a comment today when I speak French they cannot hear my Aussie accent lol. Not that I can speak much but I have been using and practising whenever possible. We are sailing through the La Pérouse Strait enroute to Otaru ...

I have not been travelling, as much of my work has been focused or oriented around Yuzhno Sakhalinsk. As well, my life has been somewhat monotonous and less than exciting - wake up, work all day and some of evening, read a bit or surf the net, and head to bed. No good stories, no real updates of grave interest, but as ...

... drilling site. I was told to head to the airport, as my client has daily flights for its personnel to the processing facility and off-shore drilling operations. Thus, Kyle heads off in the taxi ready and prepared for the next adventure into the sub-arctic tundra they call Siberia. Long story short, the taxi driver somehow believed it was his privilege to charge me literally 50% more than the initial price quoted (and I finally submitted to ...
