... as to almost be black. The swans were swimming by. It was very serene.

Tonight we had dinner in the Bistro. It is a fixed menu of Coquille St Jacques, French Onion Soup, Tournedos of Veal with Calvado sauce and pepper mashed potatoes and asparagus and creme brle. Quite a meal while sailing up the Seine.

Tomorrow we go to Jumiege and to Rouen.

Today we take the ferry from Newhaven, (hope it's not a choppy crossing) to begin our Bimble across France, Spain and Portugal. No idea when we will be back! Caudebec- Again great sun and blue sky...this morning we took a drive to see the thatched roof houses specific to Normandy. Many had thatched entrances, pool houses & garages. Along the roof ridge or crown are irises planted with their roots which help hold the thatch ...

... the wrong way down a one way section. We managed to fill up and get moving again but not for long until Olivia decided it was wee o'clock so we had to stop again.
