    Baska to Krk Town

A travel blog entry by jephcottjourney on Jul 07, 2015

On our last full day we decided to drive the full length of the island, which only took 40 minutes and see the town of Baska. The town is famous for a stone tablet found with some of the areas oldest known language. The area is also famous for FKK, which is a acronym used to describe their nudist beaches. This trend was actually started by Queen Elizabeth II uncle, King Edward VIII, who loved to bath in the ...

Em thought it was great at first until it started drying and tightening on her face. We walked out into the bay to wash off the now dried mud. Our skin did feel smooth but I don't know about healed. We rented an amazing 2 story apartment right in a small harbor in the town of Klimno. The island is famous for its caves and a beach with healing ...

... groups only issued denials. What troubled me was the Croats' evident need to hide behind them, as if a simple apology without qualifiers might delegitimate them as a nation." No one is innocent in the Balkans. Every group has blood on their hands. On the train ride back, I tried to sleep but kept thinking about what I'd seen and heard. How powerful apologies can be--both national and personal. But how pride-swallowing hard they are. When I got back to ...

We togged up – ludicrous to be putting on heavy protective gear but…when on Brutus, there’s a dress code! We headed north along the coast road and enjoyed the magnificent views from the mountain side lane. We knew they would be better going back from the cliff side – if I was brave enough to look!

We paid our toll fee to use the amazing road bridge that links ...
