    Gisteren heb ik al gemeld dat het landschap erg Nederlands aandeed, vandaag was ook het weer puur nederlands. Veel bewolking en af en toe 'n druppel. 20 ºC en een lekkere bries in de rug. Helaas was die bries ook verantwoordelijk voor de aanvoer van buien met bijbehoren onweer. In eerste instantie slaagde ik erin om de buien voor te blijven …

    ... but this is beside the point. After about 5 hours of walking we decided to negotiate the timetable at an italian bus stop and I got us a bus with a stop two blocks from where we are staying at the Mercure. Tonight I think we might find our way back to the little pizza restaurant in the old city. There is a pizza on the menu that has octopus.     An early morning walk through the tight streets of Venice and you can see why everything here is so dear. Absolutely everything is carried in or out. First thing this morning we got to see the rubbish run guys with their carts lifting them over the stairs bridging the canals, the laundry / linen guys doing the same from their trips around the hotels and the delivery guys doing their runs of replacement stock for the shops.
