... worried about our travel Visa running out before we were done…If anything I thought that Greece would be rushed after Italy, but it looks like things have reversed.

Well at least I have supper tonight and ½ day tomorrow (that is if Brian doesn’t make us get to the ferry terminal too early).

Ciao Bella Italy! I wish I could have got to know you better. Here’s to another return in times of warmer weather.

Ancona, The Marches, Italy 2totango... can turn to, pin hopes, dreams, tears and despair on. Fine. The Problem arises when people can no longer see. Due to being 'blinded' by their faith.
I have seen some churches here that most likely go back to the Stones Age, (yeah yeah I know maybe not that far) but upon entering some of these buildings, is like walking into a different world. A universe where to breath is either a blessing or a disturbance. I am ...
Ancona, The Marches, Italy benitalutz... overtakes you on bends and also crosses onto your side of the road going around the sharp bends on steep mountain roads.. including massive trucks. It was enough to keep anyone awake. We were heading for Elba but it seemed like a long drive. Tricked myself though but first aiming for Lake Tramiseno, then siena and then before we knew it we were at Piombino and about to board the ferry to Elba Island...
Ancona, The Marches, Italy emmasadventures... others. I got a few drips on the book, most on my left arm and Dan had none at all on him. We got to Patras on time, and as we were turning into port we saw a couple of Albanian kids get into the back of a truck that was getting on board the ferry, attempting to stowaway! The truck driver knew and was passing through a checkpoint before getting on, so I am sure there were fouhdd...and after all the packing of an overnight bag, we had to carry our ...
Ancona, Marche, Italy jasndanOff to the beach today, that is pretty much all there is to do in Ancona. Beautiful day though. 30min bus ride to get to the beach. The water was amazing, bright blue with white pebbles.

Got a little burnt! Everyone at the beach was so tanned!!!! even the babies!!!
Ancona, Marche, Italy hayleys09tripOur plan to get up early was a success; I even managed to grab a shower amongst the clickety-click insect wildlife, and we were off at a quarter to eight having bade a good day to Mrs Campsite and her man who does.

The first stage towards Ancona was another scaling of mighty lumps of rock. We gasped incredulously as the road continued to turn up and up and up in a quite relentless fashion. The view once over the pass was spectacular, a ...
Ancona, Marche, Italy saracengill... just started her tour not that long ago and she is going for 3-mth sojourn which is enviable compared to my 3 weeks. She is taking a break from hospital admin etc.... Too many little details and when I brought out my itinerary for my 3 weeks: it was so organised that it was considered Singaporean! =P.

Geoff was like a parent taking care of us (he bought Jess beer (I skipped) and us apple pies for dinner - that's all that was remaining in the caferia) while Jess could ...
Ancona, Marche, Italy chansenseiLast night's food was grim when I ate it and just as bad when I woke up in the middle of the night to throw it up and down the toilet. Nice. So when Kat's alarm went off at 6.45am I barely noticed and didn't wake to say bye to them. I eventually got up at 9 and threw my stuff in the rucksack and headed back into Rome Termini to get my train ticket to Ancona, where I would be catching the ferry to Split in Croatia. The guy at the ...
Ancona, Italy hels_belles... lower levels. It was like a room in solitary confinement in a dark prison. Picture this: dim lights; a small, windowless room; movie theater-like seats; hundreds of Italians screaming to each other about saved seats for friends; no air circulation. We un-claimed our airseats and headed straight to the bar. Unfortunately, all the booths were taken by those who knew better, so we settled for a table with chairs until dinner was over. We contemplated shelling out the dough for a cabin ...
Ancona, Italy the_stamms... breakfast, we were in the milling herd that eventually was processed through police and customs and heading out onto the dock. Nancy and I got to the train station with plenty of time to spare before the train to Venice, the departure being delayed a half hour. We found a compartment with a few others and settled in for the journey. The train arrived at the Venice station, we got off and walked outside, and -- there it was -- Venice, with its ...
