... Alex) and younger Vietnamese wife. What a guy! In the evening after a shower and a nap we met up for dinner, and went to bed quite early. Yesterday the little gang went to Vinpearl! It's a theme park on an island opposite Nha Trang that you get to by taking Asia's (or maybe the world's) longest oversea cable car. Our first ride was some spinning, upside downy monstrosity, that wouldn't have been half as bad if I could have got the voice in the back of my head to stop ...

It was a bizarre spread including things such as spring rolls and cold chips which we avoided. After breakfast ...

... 160; Aside from our exploring the old town of Hoi An we also took a day to do a bus trip to a local ancient site known as My Son (pronounced Me Sone). This is also a UNESCO site that was built by the predecessors of Angkor Wat, so in many ways looked like a simpler smaller version of the temples we saw in Cambodia. Unfortunately vast parts of this site were destroyed by carpet-bombing during the Vietnam War. Having recently visited Angkor ...

After getting some food we walked through the market and found a stall with these wonderful paintings. We each choose diiferent sayings and watched as our pieces were hand painted. Such a great souvenir! There were so many bars trying to drag you in. One in particular calked ''tiger' they offered free drinks and unlimited buckets if you found the picture of the tiger. Safe to say we passed on that particular establishment.
