... before. However, we did not know how to find the right part of it, and the hotel concierge didn't seem to know where to look either. When we got to the convention center, Philip asked one of the traffic guards, using Japanese, where it was. Fortunately, we had picked the right part of the complex and only had to cross the street and go inside. We bought tickets and entered the exhibit.

It was a fairly good sleep in the capsule until around 7:30am, when the young family just two pods away from us seemed to forget that the only thing separating us from the corridor was a thin bamboo blind, and proceeded to make lots of noise! ... lost though. After a very tiring but good start to our time in Tokyo we ate some more of Maretha’s yummy food and collapsed onto those oh so cosy futons.

The next day Tim dibbsed it as a man shopping day and we travelled to another nearby part of Tokyo, Shinjuka, with the kings of electric shops. There are two six story high buildings right next to each other which look and are set out identically but are in actual fact are extreme rivals. We were so confused ...

... and taking a peek out of each of the windows we walked down to the 4th floor, which has a few displays and a gift shop. You catch the elevator down on the 4th floor and are let out on the 3rd floor, which has over 3,000 gold Buddha statues.

... so we couldn’t go wrong and we would most definitely get our money’s worth. The waiter thought we were mad and at first would only let us have 3 drinks each, but soon gave up and brought us everything.
