... able to say things that I have done in the past (ie: I went to Los Angeles, I have a dog, ect.), which is terrible. I want to be able to have a decent conversation, which is something that is going to take time. When I arrived and realized that not barely anybody speaks English I felt overwhelmed, and I still do. I overwhelm myself because I want to speak the language so badly that I will write down all sorts of words that I want to learn ...

WOW!! BEST SMALL HOTEL IN SPAIN IF NOT IN EUROPE..

"Yes" it is possible to to experience a different Marbella.....
Normally one does not associate "authentic Spain" when coming to
Marbella or the Costa del Sol in general! The picture we all have of this part of the world, is big
concrete buildings from Malaga right to Gibraltar! Big hotels, big resorts, Golf Courses and obviously lots of sun! Not to forget the bling bling factor!
When looking for the "Real ...

... in Malaga yet (locals) but I am really hoping that I do. That and studying vocabulary are on my priority lists. I also can not wait to explore Andalusia and figure out what "Spain" truly is. I have an idea so far....easy going people, siestas, friends, partying, staying up extremely late to party, but I have yet to put my finger on "Spain". I ...

lo bueno y lo malo

... That is really what they did both days actually. I am an English Conversation Assistant but they are giving me way more responsibility than that. I haven´t been introduced to all of the professors I´m going to be working with yet and this terrible man, Fernando, who is in charge of scheduling and stuff has been so mean and unhelpful. I told him that I would like to observe the classes and talk to the teachers to have an idea of what they are doing ...

First Impressions of España

... Yummm

On the way down I saw all sorts of kids playing in the streets and I wondered if I would be teaching any of them in the coming weeks. I also have noticed all sorts of dogs off of leashes – apparently pet owners in Spain are not worried about their dog attacking other dogs or getting run over by cars!

I haven’t noticed any of the coldness that some say Spaniards tend to exhibit, so that has made my time here pretty pleasant. I think people ...

Road Rage the Spanish Way

... I wasn´t so sure if this is part of the legal code in Spain or not, and I don´t want to miss my flight tomorrow because I am rotting in some jailcell. Sometimes you just need to know when to fold them and stand back.

Even with her car rocking this woman just stayed on her cellphone and made no attempt to move it so the rocking got more intense. Let me tell you, the chassis and suspension on a Benz has some play ...

Pühapäevaselt uimane

... br>

SPAIN TOUCHDOWN!

... country, the efforts to conserve energy make personal comfort take a back seat. The complete lack of air conditioning in the airport would only serve as a predecessor of what was to come.
After our group had gathered we were separated into the homestay group and the residence hall group. This only increased my anxieties as my new found friend, Mirella, and I were put onto separate buses. Once en route, I tried to take in the ...

Torremolinos... chillin´ for 2 days at the beach!

... that I'd imagined, and it was amazing to see the coral reefs near the beach, and all of the beautiful scenery from so high up. Val and I believed we saw Africa too in the distance, but who knows? All in all, we were in the air about 10 minutes or so, but it felt like longer... Val loosened up, and we had fun rocking back and forth a bit and pointing out the hotel and places we'd been (like Mambo). When we got back to the beach, Val and Shanelle said they wanted ...

arrival at the beach

This is one of 4 houses the family has, one being in Madrid and the other two in Salamanca. Like the one in Madrid this is a condo on the main floor, with a small yard that backs on to a common yard. Each condo has their own small private swimming pool, and you can see the beach from the living room! Out of 9 people living in the house, I am the only one with my own room. It has an ensuite bathroom with a ...
