... it was 30 degrees. Once on the boat the breeze was most welcome. We had a walk along the coastal walkway and perved at all the bathers, mainly older people, who looked like they bake themselves every day. We too had a sit interest sun on some rocks and looked into the beautiful clear water. All around the Cinque Terre the water is really clear and you seem to be able to swim anywhere. We got to view the 5 villages from the ...

We missed our first train so we had to wait 45 minutes for the next one. Might have been the hottest day since we have been in Florence, and of course there was no air conditioning on the train. ... about 10 minutes. Incidentally, Michael Schumacher set the lap record in 2004 at just under 1 minute for the 3 km circuit. That’s an average of just over 180 km/h on a track that has more length in corner than in straight.

Also from Modena we took a day trip to Bologna (just 30 minutes on the train). We originally planned to stay in Bologna but February’s heavy snow in this area left the whole site a muddy bog and they had to close the ...

... appears that people seem to hire the chairs for the season as a lot of locals were there and it seemed like their normal social occasion. Was great to see all the old people hanging out by the sea and of course there were plenty of sellers peddling their wares fake handbags, umbrellas, winter jackets or you could get a massage.
The water was clean and you can even hire sail boats or paddle boats with slides. Was quite interesting ...
