On the last two Wednesdays we tackled a couple of easy/moderate routes, one a good climb, the other a long (19kms) walk on a beautiful abandoned railway bed.

It is much harder to live here without a car, although there is a great tram system a few hundred meters from our home, it only travels the coastline so other destinations are difficult. And the bus system is less frequent and of course not as widespread as the Swedish system.

... walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner. It was after 20:00 but true to Spanish habits we were the first diners through the door. It has been a long day for us and we were happy to have a simple dinner before returning home.
True to form the next morning we had a magnificent sunrise. We love waking to our seaside view.

Alicante was a nice way to end our time in Spain. After we got a wheel chair sorted out we walked down to see the castle (I want to say it was called St. Helena but I'm not positive) and then hit the boardwalk near the sea. It was pretty cold and deserted down there but we did stumble on a huge pirate ship/bar that made Mike very happy (see picture of him on a throne). The trip to the castle also got us thinking that ...
