... days riding had taken it out of us and we were shattered.

During the evening we went to a pizzeria and had something to eat before having a drink at 'Mama Maria' and then returning to the hotel for a nightcap in the bar. The highlight of the night was probably me walking around the city with a large rip in my shorts!

It has the 3rd highest life expectancy in the world at 84 years and the official language is Catalan. Andorra La Vella is the highest capital city in Europe at a height of just over 1000m or 3,356 feet above sea level.

We catch the train into Les Rambles and then walk 5 minutes to our accommodation. Unfortunately we are left standing outside for ...

... is no snow on the mountains parts of the road and some of the views are breathtaking. The lower tunnel to Andorra is closed for maintenance so we climb even higher than might normally be the case. The tunnel at the top is over two Kms long and we emerge into the affluent, ski settlement of Canillo. It is an impressive sight. The road up to Andorra I think is used for the Tour de France and once through the tunnel the roads are much wider and there are lots of chalets and ...

... the older men of this town. Lovely to see too.)

We freshened up before returning back into town seeking a more suitable venue for a proper meal but were underwhelmed by the seeming lack of choice when compared to our previous visits. I'm not sure if this reflects some regional change - we have now entered Catalonia and not only do they have their own language and desires for independence, they may have differencing food habits. We located a small cafe with some ...
