... I miss I-5 today!! The English motorway system is kind of . . . . . I guess "User Unfriendly" is the nicest way to put it. We spent much of our time on the M5, M6, M62, M60, M606 going well under the speed limit of 70 because it was so crowded - EVERYwhere! There was also roadworks along about 80% of the way and we saw approximately 4 road workers actually out working. It took us 7 hours to make a 4 hour drive.

After visiting St. Paul's and even staying for Evensong, we headed across the Millennium Bridge and walked the South Bank to the London Eye... Which only the guys were brave enough to ...

... a peek in Ripon cathedral. We have a lot of cathedrals on the list to see... I'll have to decide if one is my favorite. Then it was west to Thirsk. Thirsk is the home town of the vet that wrote the James Herriot books, which Dad is a big fan of. We toured James Wights house/practice and even played some games there. Across the street is our b&b so we have a peaceful night before another big commuting day tomorrow when we'll drive to York and board the train to London ...

Well, I guess there's no turning back now! I've been able to catch up lots of people who are important to me over the last couple of weeks and I'm feeling excited about departing. A lovely family dinner of my mum's amazing spaghetti bolognese was a welcome tonic, and a reminder of what I'll be leaving behind.

Next stop Mexico - el įguila ...
