The Lido is a Long Island which protects the Venice Lagoon from the Adriatic Sea. It is also the site of the Venice Film Festival. We decided that it was time for some beach weather, so we packed out togs and set out on the ferry. It is obviously a popular spot as the ferry terminal was very large. Fortunately the traffic was not that bad today. We followed the crowd to one of the "free" beaches. A lot are owned by the big hotels and there is no public access. ...
