... We slept until 8:30, got ourselves down to the breakfast room for a simple breakfast...good, but nothing like the fabulous spread in Rome. Anyway, it turned out to be a lovely sunny day, so we decided to walk to the Piazza San Marco through the little winding alleyways rather than by vaporetto. Haven't seen then in an hour so hopefully mum and dad will get the rest they need :-) Internet will be dodgy over the next 12 days of the cruise as we will be reliant on local port cafés. So relax if you don't receive anything, I assure you we haven't gone the same way as the ...

... clock strikes the hour so it's an experience in itself. The bridges crossing the grand canal are pieces of art in themselves! Most are lined with people stood looking out over the canal, I dread to think how busy it would be in the summer or when a carnival is on!! We spent the rest of the day just wandering around. Working our way down the streets, it really is like a very beautiful maze. We went for dinner off the beaten path at a pizzeria where we sat next to the canal. We will miss ...
