We had booked a room in another place for that night but seeing that it was in the middle of nowhere we asked the taxi driver to take us somewhere better and this was his choice. It was ok for what we paid, air condition absolutely needed in sri lanka was provided. Right next to the beach, swimming pool nothing special. I would probably not repeat but it was a good last minute option

... have to be a damn good shot to bring both of them down if they stopped the car to rob or assault me. The driver drove at about 2 miles an hour and that late at night, it was a long dark unlit road and I was kicking myself at how quickly it had all happened ( plus being secretly grateful for the excellent AC in the car) at least if they were going to murder me, I wouldn't look too hot and hassled. I finally asked if they were Buddhists ...

general things he would answer me vocally but on the couple of occasions
he wanted to refer to the scammer he would say something like, "Oh,
here is a photo from when I was in Indonesia" or some such. The way we

... it's definately not an easy undertaking. This week, there's a big United Nations function here in Colombo with many heads of different world organizations expected to attend. So we are scrambling to get ready for that. It will be a neat experience. Next week we have a choice of working in youth development, slum hospital, or an orphanage. I'm going to try and spend time in all of them. Ill try and put some pictures up on my next post. Miss you ...

... Sydney. 3 cancelled reservations over 2 weeks from 3 different companies and now Air Asia's website wouldn't accept any of my bank cards. I ended up spending a day heading into Colombo just to find their office and buy my tickets directly.

So most of my time was spent on-line, on the phone or on buses, but I did find time to sit on the beach with a beer, meet a number ...
