... journey even given the road works and we arrived in Dresden just after 3pm (left Berlin at 1230) For a small(er) city it was quite busy. The hotel is nice and central and we walked to dinner. The city is amazing - considering most of it was destroyed by allied bombing in WW2 its been rebuilt and the buildings still look like they are hundreds of years ...

... and a lot of the church was destroyed. The cross that was on top of the church was found in the rubble and is now located in the church. He contract for making the new cross was won by a British guy, who it turns out, his father was the man who bombed the church during the war. ... tomorrow. (Generally the shops are always shut on a Sunday in Europe). But a few minutes later after fiddling with the settings it came good and seemed OK. Phew!! Our last rental car was good in that in had a built in navigator, but now we only have the one brought from home to rely on.
We drove on towards Dresden and crossed the border into Germany after around an hour. Whooosh…..the cars started whizzing by on ...
