Dresden, Saxony, Germany cariverga... a little tour of Dresden too which was really nice! There are some pretty impressive old building. Well technically they are old but were almost destroyed in the war. They have only been rebuilt in the last 5 to 10 years which is amazing! Had a wicked Turkish vegie plate then said our goodbyes and got on the train back to Berlin. Back to public transport for us!
The Rebuilt City – Dresden
Dresden was pretty much wiped out in World War 2. It has since been rebuilt but the fires that burnt the city down remain and a lot of the old statues and buildings are stained black. I have been sick as a dog and nearly tainted the city with a bit of chunder!
So I don't have much to say ...
... country is like looking for cheap fuel, you keep wandering around, getting thirstier until you either give up and settle for the price you just found, or you go back and enjoy the benefits of the search. In this case, it was probably a bit of both.
Anyway, the excursion to Dresden was well worth it. Now I know what I am in for when I get to Munich. Expensive food, expensive beer, and an empty wallet. But it will be all worth it…
More to come!
... to find another cache near the Postplatz where there was an interesting design monument, someone says a sculpture - Waterscreen - reminding of a water curtain.
Our last and well-deserved stop was at the Busmann´s Café where we enjoyed our coffee, hot chocolate and delicious cakes.
And the day ended as fast as it had started. But I am pretty sure that we will come back once again as there is so much to see in Dresden!
... spend time with their families and have breakfast together; maybe take the kids to school. All in all, the VW factory was impressive. I'm not that much of a car fanatic, but just witnessing the precision of German technology was spectacular. And even though I will probably never own one of these Phaetons, I was content with sitting in the drivers seat of a green Phaeton in the visitors center... Leben Sie lang und erfolgreich, Whitney

I missed the 11 plus train all thanks to the bus and rail system in Berlin. I forgot that it was a Saturday and buses took longer than normal. I only got to Dresden at about 4pm and spent 2 hours there. I saw many old buildings. One of the nicest mural I saw was at ...

I am very glad that I decided to venture out to Saxon Switzerland National Park, even if it meant a very long day for me. (I left Dresden about 10 AM and would not arrive in Vienna until 11:30 PM).
