... end of WW2. It's been totally rebuilt and the old town looks as if it were all original buildings.

The contrast to Prague couldn't be greater. It's very quiet here, a city of about 500,000. The streets are wide and there is a lot of greenspace. We love it. Also, there's a lot of nightlife. ... in Dresden are pretty and the view of the city centre was impressive.

We spent the afternoon and early evening on the train.

~~~ The first night we got to Dresden we had dinner at the restaurant recommended by the tour book in Neustadt. It had cute appetizer food in glass jars. The decor was special. That street is flooded with young people (going to bars perhaps). It was in Dresden that we felt that it's kinda cold in Germany.
