We opened our guide book on our way to Bohol and figured: why stay in messy Tagbilaran if we can stay in a little corner of paradise somewhere else? It was a bit of a gamble making our way to Nuts Huts because it requires taking one of the last buses from town and then walking on a dirt road with no light and no grip for 15 minutes. They even sent us off with some of their famous soap that will ...

... bags above our heads - it was such a special way to arrive in a place. The island not is overly touristy; there is barely accommodation and only one restaurant and a dive shop exist. The first night, we stayed in a treehouse with a mosquito net covering the "bed" - a thin piece of foam on slatted board. It was breezy, but hard to sleep because the tree creaked all night and you could only lay on your back because that was the best way to ...

After all, the schedule of the trip was just in time for leisurely spending a long weekend. We left on a Friday and went back home on Monday, which was a declared non-working holiday in our country.

I done my research before the trip and found out that Dipolog is the capital city of Zamboanga Del Norte... Mindanao part of the Philippines. Our travel went ...
