However, you learn quickly, as I did, 2 euros is a ridiculous price for beers in Germany. You only should pay no more than a euro. Anyway, Frankfurt saw me see a club the next night with Keegan and Derek as we went out at 2am...Oh god...and I left at 4am, as they had to catch a flight at 5am. I know they're there and guys, hope you are having fun.

So here's my first attempt at 21st century self-display or 'blogging'. I have come to realize that it would be irresponsible to deprive the world of the brilliant inights that my well-rounded head has been blessed with.

... dass wir es durchgezogen haben und nun diese Eindruecke mit nach Hause nehmen duerfen.

In erster Linie haben wir diesen Blog fuer uns geschrieben, weil es am Ende nach so vielen Eindruecken doch schwer faellt sich an Dinge vom Anfang und Einzelheiten zu errinnern. Da es mittlerweile aber fast 6000 Zugriffe auf den Blog gab, haben anscheinend auch ein paar andere Leute unsere Reise mitverfolgt, was uns sehr freut. Wir hoffen mal ...

I really need to thank every one here, old and new friends for giving me a German & Dutch experience that I could not buy from a travel agency.

It was really good for me to catch up on friends I met 32 years. Honestly there were time I could cry I felt so good. I was so happy I was remebered after all of these years.
I really hope that we dont lose contact as we did ...

... we had a beer. Traveling along the canal was good because it protected us somewhat against the wind. After another 13 kms we reached the Rhine. We rode back though some country towns and stopped at a Döner place for a Kebab and another 2 beers. The kebab was way too big for me, so I left half of it. We then rode around some farming communities which was very nice and very different to what we see in Australia ...

Stayed in a stunning campground 60km south of Dortmund with tiers of camping levels overlooking the lake and the sunset and automated bathrooms where the fans and light come on when you close the door (simple things amuse small minds I know!). Went for an early morning swim and was surprised how lovely and warm the water was. Stayed near Dortmund in a house...which was weird to watch dvd's, live in a house (stay in a deep basement and with so many fantastic german gadgets for ...
